PLEASE NOTE WE ARE A CLOSED SANCTURY AND ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO TAKE NEW BIRDS.
IF YOU HAVE FOUND A BIRD IN NEED WE WOULD ADVISE YOU TO CONTACT ANOTHER RESCUE CENTRE.
Wing and a Prayer Wild Bird and Owl Haven is a Charitable Trust based in Norfolk, U.K. run by a board of trustees.
We receive no official funding. All of our work is financed either by ourselves or from generous donations by the public. All offers of help are therefore gratefully received.
Over the years we have helped rehabilitate thousand's of birds, many of which were orphaned wild birds and owls who were injured, sick or been abandoned by / seperated from their parents. The majority of these birds and owls were able to recover sufficiently and be released back into their natural habitat.
Inevitably, there were a few birds that could not be released and we offered sanctury to those that would settle happily in captivity. Many of these birds still remain with us and as a closed sanctury it these birds we still care for.
We also care for some captive-bred, non-native owls. These were taken in when their owners could no longer care for them. We try to keep these at a minimum as some of the owls can live for many years in captivity.
All of the residents are housed in large aviaries where we provide them with food, shelter, medical attention if required and a quiet life.
We are members of the European Wildlife Rehabilitators Association and operate according to their guidelines.
Although no longer a rehabilitation centre we do still need help with fundraising to cover our food costs and general overheads, therefore support is always appreciated.
There are numerous ways that you can support the haven, You could sponsor a bird, say a Tawny Owl or a Jackdaw.
You can simply make a donation which will go into our general funds to be used either for caring for the birds or for building new aviaries. 100% of all donations go directly into the Haven.
