In the interests of the resident birds, the Haven is not open to the public If you find a baby bird on the ground, please do not pick it up unless you are absolutely sure that it needs help. Babies will often leave the nest before they can fly well and the parents will feed it on the ground. If you are in any doubt, please feel free to ring us for advice. If you do find a sick, injured or baby bird that is in need of help, we would be more than happy to take it in but we would ask that you bring it to us as we are unable to collect. Please bear in mind that the Haven is funded entirely by donations and a contribution towards the cost of food, medications, vet fees etc would be gratefully received. If you cannot afford a donation, don't worry, we will not ask you for one and the bird will still be welcome. Place the bird on a towel in a dark box with air holes. Do not attempt to put water into the beak of any bird as it may get into the airway. A good stop gap if the bird cannot be brought in quickly is cat biscuits soaked in boiling water, then cooled. Break off small pieces and feed. This will give nutrition and moisture. This does not apply to birds of Prey who need specialist food. If you are in any doubt, please ring us. Opening hours for admissions :- Winter (October - March ) 10.00 to 16.00 Summer (April to September) 09.00 to 19.00 Please ring us to let us know you are coming Telephone :- +44 ( 0) 7766 685102 0r +44 (0) 7920112029
